An Eventful Day

Well my friend kyle and i fire up the truck this morning at about 445 and head to the lake. we get there at mcrary creek around 545 and head to the rocks around pinnacle landing. In the first half hour we caught 4 fish on buzzbaits in 12-14ft of water they were all solid 1.5-2lb fish and put up good fights. then on the way over to the sea wall i realize i have no prop on my trolling motor... great and i dont have a spare.. so i put the boat on the trailer and go to west marine and get a spare hoping to salvage the day. well they dont have a MG one so i head up to Bass Pro and get a new prop but they failed to tell me i need a new prop nut kit which i will have to go back and get this afternoon from them. all in all we could have had a really good day of fishing but instead it turning into a wild goose chase for TM parts. i will be back on the lake in the morning and i will post a report tmrw thanks for all the great info shared on this site it really helps a young fisherman

Matt, file that away in your memory under EXPERIENCE. I bet that from now on you will start checking to see if the nut is tight on your trolling motor and every time you buy a new prop you will make sure that you have a nut to hold it on! You could have done like a lot of people do, borrow one off of a boat that is tied to a dock! I have always been afraid of picking up free lead doing that myself. I would rather buy my bullet sinkers!
