NORMAN AT NITE Message posted by RANGERDOUG 24.74.189.21 Fished club tour.11:00pmtill 9:00am.Who set the hours in this club?Started out across from queens landing throwing senko with mini glow stick inserted in the middle.Got a few bites but no hookups.Ran up to stumpy creek and hit big lighted pier at mouth.0 hits.Ran back to back of creek and started throwing black chatterbait and finally hooked up to nice fish off in of pier in 17ft. of water.Ran down to mountain creek and stayed in there till.daylight.Threw senko and buzzbait and chatterbait.Hooked up on 2 more fish in front off lake norman hotel about 4:30am on senko.Started throwing tiny torpedo at daybreak and hooked up on 2 more fish.Thought the torpedo pattern would hold up but sun busted out pretty good so i gave up on it.Ended up finishing 2 with 9:35lbs.or so.Tour.was won with 9;55lbs.Want to give a shout out to the Monster Drink company and Optima Battery company for getting me thru.the nite!\"\"SEE YA\"LL\"\"\"RANGERDOUG\"\" 2008-07-20 07:11:25 Message posted by DerekL 98.105.192.40 Congrats Doug. I caught my first fish on my 2nd cast off a dock and did not get another one in the boat until 6am. Long night : ( We started in McCary Creek and figured them out pretty quick. The fish were suspended on the outside poles on deeper docks, unfortunatly for me my non boater was getting all of em to bite. I was pitching a power worm to the poles and he was just dragging a trick worm around em after me. He caught 12 keepers doing that. I was determined to stick with the big worm convinced a big fish would eat it sooner or later. Learned a valuable lesson, sometimes you just gotta take what the lake will give you. Was going for the home run when all you needed was singles. Threw a buzz bait at first light and had two good fish nail it but both threw it,finally caught another fish on a little john around 7am. Most of our fish came on Black&Red Spinnerbait fished on big rock near beaver creek, few smaller fish came on Super Flukes after daylight. My son kicked my butt with his spinnerbait, think he had 10.08, but lost two fish tryin to keep them alive from 11:30 to 9 next mornin. Guess I had about 7lbs., lost my best fish tryin to sling it into boat, nope don\'t own a net, guess I should. Thanks again for making us feel welcome.
